Doctor of Medical Science in Surgery (SWS Clinical School): The Master of Arts in Medical Sociology (Thesis) is an interdisciplinary program that offers students the opportunity to explore the social and cultural factors that contribute to health and disease. The program offers a comprehensive foundation in medical sociology, as well as an introduction to the ways in which culture and society affect health practices, beliefs, and outcomes. Students will learn how culture influences people s perceptions of illness and the ways in which health care providers respond to those perceptions.
