Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technician: Medical Laboratory Technicians (MLTs) carry out tests that aid in the diagnosis and treatment of illnesses under the direction of a medical technologist or doctor. MLTs prepare samples for analysis, use tools to detect microbes, observe tests and procedures, examine the chemical composition of fluids, match blood for transfusions, and check drug levels in the blood. Our program prepares you for employment as a medical laboratory technician in hospitals, blood banks, community health centers, clinics, and research laboratories. Graduates can also pursue continued education at an institution offering a bachelor s degree or higher in medical technology or related fields.
