About the course

MA (Hons) Sociology/ Classics (Classical Civilisation): Classics is the study of ancient Greece and Rome s literature, history, art, and material culture. Latin and/or Greek language study is possible at any level. As part of your plan, you will have the opportunity to visit archaeological sites and museums in Italy and Greece. Classical civilisation will be studied, including the history, literature, and culture of archaic Greece and republican Rome. Homer will be read alongside Herodotus and Sallust s histories, Plautus plays, and Cicero s speeches.
