It's critical to show that you have the financial resources to cover both medical and living costs.

Students who wish to study in South Africa need to apply for a study visa. BI-1738 Form needs to be submitted to apply for a Study visa for South Africa.

Fill your Application

When you're ready, fill out the visa application form, print it, and take it to the Visa Application Centre together with the documents required for the visa category you've chosen to be processed.

Schedule an appointment at the Visa Application center

After you've completed your visa application, you'll need to make an appointment to have your biometrics (fingerprints and photo) taken at a Visa Application Center. Once you've scheduled your appointment, you'll receive an email confirmation and a letter of appointment.

If you're applying as a part of a family or group, you'll need to make separate appointments for each member of your family or group.

Finish the Fee payment

After you have filed your application, you must pay the visa application fee. If you print the form and bring it to the Visa Application Centre, you can pay at the time of your appointment.

At the Visa Application Center, the Visa fee must be paid in cash or by credit/debit card.

Submit the Visa Application

You need to submit your visa application in in-person at the Visa application center. You can schedule the visa application submission appointment online or walk-in between 8 am -11 am.

Track your Visa Application

When your decision on the visa application is confirmed at the Visa Application Centre, you will receive an email notification. If you don't have easy access to email or want more precise monitoring information, you might be able to get updates through SMS. Ensure that this service is available at the Visa Application Center where you will be going.

You can also use the internet to track the status of your visa application. To use this service, enter your last name and the Reference Number from your Visa Application Centre invoice/receipt.

Receive your passport

After your visa application has been approved, you can pick up your passport at the Visa Application Centre or have it returned to you by courier for an additional fee.

Bring your Visa Application Centre receipt and a form of government identification when picking up your passport in person. You may send a representative to fetch your passport if permitted; they must submit a letter of authorization signed by you, as well as the Visa Application Centre's receipt and official identity.
