Prince Edward Island is a beautiful province in Canada, which has launched its own provincial Nominee Program for nominating applicants for Express Entry, who are interested in immigrating and settling in the province. The applicants are chosen for the PEI PNP, on the basis of their demonstrated intent to settle on the island after obtaining their Canada PR visa, and also on their ability to integrate themselves into the community and contribute positively to the economy of the province.

Work Permit Stream for the Prince Edward Island Provincial Nominee Program

Under the PEI work permit stream or PEI PNP Express Entry stream, those candidates who desire to live and work in the province are eligible to apply. Candidates will need to be eligible for at least one of the following Federal Economic Immigration Programs.

  1. Federal Skilled Worker Program
  2. Federal Skilled Trades Program
  3. Canadian Experience Class

  • The applicant should be willing to attend an interview in the province if required
  • The applicant should be able to furnish proof of having a minimum of two years of full-time work experience in the preceding years.
  • The applicant should show proof of having sufficient funds to sustain in the province as stipulated by the government
  • The applicant should be able to show Proficiency in English/French with a CLB of 4.0 or more
  • The applicant should show the bonafide intention of settling and working in the province

  1. The employer should commit to providing the applicant with a job offer for a full-time job for a minimum period of 2 years
  2. The job position should be decided on the basis of the applicant's education, skills, and work experience.
  3. The terms of the job offer will need to be in compliance with the standards in the province
  4. The employment position should be in the province of PEI
  5. The employer should be able to provide proof of support from the family of the employee
  6. The employer should be able to provide a Labor Market Impact Assessment (LMIA) whenever it is applicable.
