CANADA IMMIGRATION HOLDS TWO LANDMARK EXPRESS ENTRY DRAWS
Express Entry: Canada Holds 2 Major Draws
Canada immigration authority IRCC swung into action after a lull caused by the pandemic, with two huge draws held in close proximity to each other.
The first was a PNP-only Express Entry draw, which issued Invitations to Apply or ITAs to 940 aspiring candidates in the pool, allowing them to apply for Canada PR visa. The draw was held on 9th June 2021.
The other draw was held exclusively for those candidates in the pool who came under the Canadian Experience Class and saw a whopping 6000 members being issued ITA. The draw which was held on 10th June 2021, is one of the biggest to date.
Canada Holds Express Entry Draw For PNP Holders
On 9th June Canada held a draw for those candidates who had earlier obtained a nomination from a Canada PNP Program from any of the various provinces in the country.
As all the candidates in the draw for this round of Express selection were those who would have scored 600 points on account of PNP nomination, the cut-off score for the same was set at 711 CRS points.
As per the requirements of the administration, the IRCC announced a cutoff time for the tie-break rule, irrespective of whether there was a tie or not. In the latest draw, those aspiring candidates who had scored the minimum CRS points were issued Invitations to Apply only if they had submitted Express Entry profile to the pool on or before 16th Feb2021 at 09:06:30 UTC.
In the previous exclusive draw for PNP candidates, IRCC had invited 500 candidates to apply and the minimum required score was 713 CRS points. This draw comes amidst a serious pandemic that is still affecting many parts of the world. The IRCC has been holding draws primarily for those candidates who are already living in Canada in order to minimize the impact of travel restrictions.

Canada Issues ITAs To 6000 Candidates Under CEC
Canada has invited 6,000 candidates from the Express Entry pool to apply for Canada PR on June 10. Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada have invited candidates who have Canadian experience and a minimum score of 368 or above.
The new Express Entry draw is targeted towards those candidates who are eligible to apply for permanent residence in Canada under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC). The candidates who have received the ITA will need to have fulfilled the eligibility criteria of having at least one year of skilled work experience in the country.
The candidates will also need to showcase their proficiency in English and/or French at the intermediate level in order to be eligible to be considered under this category. In general, the CEC-only draws held by Canada have always had lower cut-off scores when compared to the normal Canada Express Entry draws.
As of now, the focus is on those candidates who are already living in Canada. However, the Canadian government officials have assured that there will be ease of travel restrictions soon. The government authorities have stated that, though the exact date for ease of restriction is not known, it is imminent and will come in phases.
