Documents Required for a UK Visa

The Following are the Documents Required for a UK Visa

Passport

Your passport must be valid for a specific period in addition to the duration of your trip. Most European countries require it to be valid for three months after you leave the country, so bring another form of identification with you (preferably with a photograph).

When traveling with children, keep in mind that you may be requested for information when you return to the home nation.

Photographs

1 passport-size photograph is required, that meets the size requirements for a visa application. The size requirement for a UK visa is 45mm X 35mm.

Fee

Proof of fee payment for a visa should be submitted. It costs as below,

Skilled worker visa

  • up to 3 years - £610 per person
  • more than 3 years - £1,220 per person

UK ILR - £2,389 per Person

Funds Required

Original bank statements from the last three months are an example of financial evidence. A minimum of £4,000 should be shown as savings in your bank account; else it may raise questions as insufficient funds and leads to rejections.

Itinerary

Confirmation of flight and lodging reservations in the UK should be submitted. If you are planning to stay with your friends or family, their details need to be submitted. If you're being sponsored by a family member or a friend, you need to submit an invitation letter.

Relationship Proofs

If you're joined by your spouse, bring your original marriage certificate as well as the most recent utility bills. If you're traveling with children, bring their birth certificates.

Business Documents

If you are traveling for business, you may also need to bring the following items

  • A letter of confirmation of the conference/training/invitation is required.
  • Complete contact information for a company representative who has been approved.

Insurance

Get appropriate travel insurance and double-check that it covers all of the activities and destinations you intend to visit.

Health Proofs

Check what vaccinations and health precautions you'll need at least eight weeks before your trip, and double-check that your prescription is legal in the country you'll be visiting. Bring a copy of your prescription and ask if you'll need a doctor's letter if you're taking prescription medicine.

If you're traveling within the EU, your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) is valid until it expires. After that, apply for a Global Health Insurance Card at GHIC. Within the European Union, a GHIC qualifies you to the same level of medically necessary care. It is still necessary to get travel insurance.
