The average time taken for a German visitor visa to be processed would be 10-15 working days. However, a delay can be expected in certain scenarios because business visas and other visas are given more importance.
The German tourist visa is valid for a period of six months for an Indian. The permitted stay period would be 90 days. It is important to note that the validity of a visitor visa depends on the consulate or the embassy that issues the visa.

In certain situations when the visitor decides to extend their visitor visa beyond 90 days, they are required to submit their visa extension application at the nearest Service Point of the Foreigners’ Registration Office. Generally, it takes up to a month to process a visa extension application and the visitor can legally stay in the country while the application is being processed. After the visa extension application is submitted, the candidate is required to pay a visa extension fee of 60 Euros.
